For Nokia S40 series, another great news for you. After foursquare supports this Nokia devices, Whatsapp, the cross platform IM for mobile phones also release their product to Nokia S40. You can download it by visiting http://www.whatsapp.com/s40/ from your Nokia S40 phone (currently, WhatsApp available only for Nokia C3-00 and Nokia X2-01). The future developement aims more devices.
As with any beta software, it may contains some bugs, that’s why they open arms to receive any bug reports on email s40-support@whatsapp.com. You can also contact us directly from the app via Options > About > Contact (that is preferred method when reporting bugs).

About Series 40
Series 40 is an embedded software platform that is open for software development via standard or de-facto content and application development technologies. It supports Java MIDlets, i.e. Java MIDP and CLDC technology, which provide location, communication, messaging, media, and graphics capabilities. S40 also supports Flash Lite applications.
Series 40 is a simpler operating system variant than the higher end S60 (which is based on the multi-tasking Symbian OS). Because S40 devices do not support true multi-tasking and do not have a native code API for third parties, its user interface may appear to be more responsive and faster than other Nokia platforms.
